We have developed an automated algorithm using hand-crafted features based on texture and color to identify abnormalities in the cervix. Combining multiple contrast mediators as inputs, in particular, contrast enhancement from acetic acid and lugol's iodine enables improved sensitivity and specificity compared to that using acetic acid alone.
learn more about the decision-making algorithm >>The inserter is created without any moving parts and has a tip that resembles the shape of a Calla Lily and a stem for a slimmer version of the Pocket Colposcope. A smart phone with live video can guide the Callascope to the cervix. The Callascope with or without self-HPV testing can enable women to have complete control over the screening process.
The algorithm requires several seconds to analyze the images to provide a decision and when used with either the Pocket Colposcope or Callascope can render a rapid decision that is on par with the sensitivity of an expert provider but with superior specificity enabling more effective screening, triage and image guidance of treatment.

“It is small, transportable, practical, it doesn’t require additional resources, you can use it in a mobile clinic."
It takes high quality images, and this really stood out to us.
The impact of using instruments like the pocket colposcope combined with the thermocoagulator will be huge.

If we can place in the hands of providers technology that is relatively low cost, that is easy to use, that doesn’t require electricity and can get to a small health center , like the Pocket colposcope and have a corresponding treatment like the thermocoagulator we can really change the story.
The callascope comes in very handy to augment cervical cancer screening.
I really liked the Callascope. I thought it was really easy to use.
Much better (than the speculum), I like it. I would like this new one every time
It was an empowering and intimate experience with myself
I am really excited about the algorithms and the difference they can make
